Chandrabadani Temple




Chandrabadani Temple is a famous temple situated in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal. It is located on top of a hill, at a distance of 36 km from Deoprayag. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Along with the Kunjapuri Temple and Surkhanda Devi Temple, this temple forms a triad of pilgrimage for the devotees of the goddess.

An annual fair is celebrated during the month of April. The altitude of this place, which measures 2,258 m above sea-level, gives a visitor a wide view of the Himalayas and the surrounding landscape.

This temple can be reached by walking from a place called Jurana, which lies on the road connecting New Tehri and Deoprayag. The nearest railhead is at Rishikesh.
