Chandra Sekhar Behera




Chandra Sekhar Behera (1873-1936) was an eminent freedom fighter belonging to the Sambalpur District of Orissa. He was also a social reformer, who sought to eradicate illiteracy and untouchability.

Chandra Sekhar Behera took active participation in the Non-Cooperation movement. He led the freedom struggle in the Sambalpur region. During the course of the struggle, he joined hands with the Indian National Congress.

Chandra Sekhar Behera was one of the founding members of the National School of Sambalpur. He also served as the chairperson of the Sambalpur Municipality.
