Chand Kazi’s Samadhi

Chand Kazi’s Samadhi is located at Simantadvipa, one of the nine islands of Navadvipa. It is about 2 km from the birth place of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

During the time of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Chand Kazi was the magistrate of Navadvipa. A Muslim, he initially tried to impede the Lord’s sankirtan movement but later he repented and vowed that neither he nor his descendants would obstruct the Lord's path. There is a 500-year-old Champaka tree, which has sprung up from his tomb.
