Chakulia, the headquarters of Chakulia block, is a small town situated in East Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, about 32 km south-east of Ghatshila. Surrounding the town lie two magnificent mountains namely Gotashila Mountain and Kanhaiswar Mountain, each of which houses an ancient Shiva temple. Another noteworthy thing in the town is a large landing ground for aeroplanes, built during the Second World War.
