Centre for Environment Education




Started in 1984, Centre for Environment Education is a national institute supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. Associated with Nehru Foundation for Development, it develops various programs to create awareness about the environment among the people.

Centre for Environment Education is headquartered in Ahmedabad. It offers training in environment education, certificate course in environmental education, internship in environmental journalism and training in librarianship and documentation. The center houses an array of documents pertaining to environment education and related topics. The collection includes books, periodicals, maps, charts, audio and video cassettes and films. There are full-fledged graphic and exhibit design studios. Centre for Environment Education organizes nature camps and a mini zoo is run under it in Ahmedabad.

The place is accessible by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station.
