Central Museum is situated at
Lachumiere, in
East Khasi Hills District of
Meghalaya. The museum exhibits a wide collection of ethnographic and archaeological objects. A rich collection of Indian textiles are also on display.
Guide services are provided to the visitors. The museum occasionally conducts informative film shows and lectures.
Central Museum can be easily approached from Shillong by road. The nearest railway station is at Guwahati in Assam.
