Central Mining Research Institute




Central Mining Research Institute (CMRI), started on the 10th May 1956, is a premier mining research and development organization in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

The institute is managed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in India (CSIR). It provides scientific and technological inputs to mineral sector for making the effective use of mining technologies for better safety, economy, conservation and environmental management.

CMRI also stretches its activities in the areas of development of underground space technology and technology for the construction of caverns, hydra projects, dams and tunnels.
