Cave Temple at Bumazuv




The Cave Temple lies in the interior portion of the Bumazuv Caves. This is a small temple carved out from stones. The architecture of this temple resembles that of other temples of Kashmir. The temple spans an area of 9’5” square externally. The base of the temple is at a height of 4'6". The slight projection of the porch of the temple is the main attraction for the visitors. The two rectangular niches in the corner pilasters make the temple more beautiful.

Other attraction in the vicinity is the Ziarat of Baba Bamdin Sahib.

Situated at Bumazuv, this Cave Temple can be approached from Mattan which is about 1 mile away. By road, one can reach here from Anantnag on the Pahalgam road. The nearest railway station is at Jammu. The nearest airport is at Srinagar.
