The Cardamom Research Center is the regional center of the Indian Institute of Spices Research,
Kozhikode, in
Kerala. It is located 8 km away from
Madikeri on the Madikeri-
Bhagamandala Road in
Kodagu District of
Karnataka.
The center conducts research on all aspects of cardamom and cardamom based cropping systems. It also performs multiplication and distribution of improved varieties of cardamom, black pepper and tree spices. Consultancy and advisory services are offered to growers. In addition, the center imparts training to farmers and officers of developmental departments on spice production and processing technologies.
