Candolim




The coastal hamlet of Candolim is situated in Bardez taluk. It was here, where Abbe Faria, the great Goan freedom fighter was born. He is also renowned as the Father of Hypnotism. The village abounds in temples. The prime attractions of the place are Candolim beach and Aguada fort. It has a Church of Our Lady of Good Hope, built by Franciscan monks. The villagers celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Good Hope on 19th December. Besides this, they also celebrate monsoon festivity, Sangodd on 29 June. Nearby attractions is Sinquerim Beach. The ideal time to visit is December to February.
