Byndoor




Byndoor is a costal town situated north of Kundapura taluk, near Shiroor in Udupi District of Karnataka. Byndoor's beautiful long sea shore is famous for its sunsets. The serenity and tranquility of this place attract tourists. The famous Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple established by the promoter of Adwaita philosophy, Shankaracharya, is in Byndoor. Nearby lie other tourist attractions such as Byndoor Mountain and Othinene, which are worth visiting. Byndoor is approximately 425 km from Bangalore. It has its own railway station and the nearest airport is at Mangalore.
