Butala




Butala is a small town in Amritsar District of Punjab. It is 50 km from Amritsar and Jalandhar and is just 16 km away from Beas.

Butala is centuries old settlement; its early name was Butan wala. It is said that the sixth Guru Shri Guru Hargobind Saheb Ji had visited this place and there is a great gurdwara in his memory. An annual festival celebrated here is a major draw.

Nearest airport is at Amritsar. Beas Railway Station serves the town.
