Burtsa Pass

Burtsa Pass, perched at an altitude of 4572 m, is located 24 km north of Murgo in northern Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the highest trade routes in the world for Yarkand in Central Asia.

This 24 km long pass is characterized by sedimentary rocks, whose layers exhibit distinct folds due to geological pressure. This unique formation clearly specifies that Himalayas have come out of the deep sea in the ages called "Tythes geocyncline".

Burtsa is a camping site. The fossils found in this region are different from those found in the Central Himalayan regions.
