Orchha, located in
Tikamgarh District of
Madhya Pradesh, is home to numerous palaces and temples containing the finest specimens of the Bundela Paintings. Flourished during the reign of the Bundela Dynasty, these paintings are even referred as Orchha Paintings.
Bundela murals exhibit a strong religious theme. Some of these have spirituality and secularism as main themes. The best specimens of Bundela paintings can be seen at the Laxmi Narayan Temple, located at Orchha. The temple walls and ceilings are adorned with some fine examples of this exquisite painting style.
