Buddha Jayanti Park is an impressive wooded park in New Delhi

, it was founded on the eve of 2,500 years of completion of Lord Buddha's great salvation. The park is enriched with flowers, winding pathways and hedges.
The highlight is a gilded copper statue of Lord Buddha, which is seated on a lotus pedestal, surrounded by water and swans. Another attraction is a sapling of the original Bodhi tree, brought from Sri Lanka.
A favorite place for ornithologists, Buddha Jayanti Park houses a wide variety of birds.
