Bryant Park

Bryant Park is situated in the heart of Kodaikanal, on the eastern side of Kodai Lake. The park was named after a forest officer of Madurai, Mr H D Bryant who concieved the park in 1908. It has an artificial pool. About 325 species of trees and shrubs are found there. Ornamental plants are cultivated in a nursery. The specialty of the park is a 150 years old eucalyptus tree and another ‘bothi’ tree.

Department of Horticulture conducts a horticultural show in May every year. On that occasion flowers, vegetables, and fruits are exhibited. The park also serves as a practical centre for education on ornamental horticulture. Pruning, budding, and grafting are taught to students of horticulture as well as visitors.
