Brahmans are an important section of the people of
Haryana. Majority of the Brahmans in Haryana are Gaur Brahmins. Sarsut, Bharadwaja, Vashista, gowdama, Bacchhasas, Parsira, Sandlasa, Gujarati (Bias) and the Dakaut are the other common gotras. The highest class among them are the Gujarati (Bias) Brahmans who had come from
Gujarat.
The Brahmans are an orthodox community. Nowadays they take up other professions than priesthood.
