Bovikan Shri Nagaraj Temple




Bovikan Shri Nagaraj Temple is situated in Bovikan, a small village 16 km from Kasargod on Kasargod - Mysore Road. The temple established in 1968 is dedicated to the serpent deity, Lord Nagaraj. Besides Lord Nagaraj, deities of Shri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Shri Satyanarayana Swamy, Shri Maha Ganapati, Shri Vithoba Rukmai and Shri Annappa Punjurli Devi are seen inside the temple.

The temple conducts Naga Darshan Seva, Sarpa Dosha Nivarana and Santati Pradanam in order to please the serpent Gods. The popular festivals celebrated here are Nagara Panchami, Ashlesha Sarpa Bali, Bhadrapada Shri Ganesh Chaturthi and Navaratri Chandika Havana.

The temple is accessible by rail and road from Kasargod. Bekal Fort, Beach Resort, Anjaneya temple and Shri Madananteshwar Temple are nearby. Welfare activities such as nitya annadanam, help for upanayanam and marriages are also rendered by the temple.
