Borivali




At about 40 km north of downtown Mumbai, Borivali's 104 sq km of virgin forest gives Mumbai the distinction of being the only metropolis in the world with a forest cover. Borivali is famous for the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and is around 17 north of Andheri.

Apart from Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the other attractions are Kanheri Caves, Tulsi and Vihar lakes. Asia's largest water park, Essel World and Water Kingdom, is located at Gorai Creek in Borivali. Indraprashta complex is a famous shopping mall.

Borivali Railway Station is on the Dahisar-Malad rail line of Mumbai Suburban Railways. It is also a major railway station for long distance trains.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is about 13 km south. Dadar Central Railway Station is 28 km south. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station is also around 35 km south.
