Bori




Bori is a village off Ale Phata on Pune-Nasik Road. It is in Akot taluk, 42 km from Akola.The place has vast deposits of silver colored volcanic ash. This volcanic ash, which was naturally flown by wind from about 3000 km from the Sumatra Islands, was deposited here 7 lakh years ago. This silver colored ash deposit is spread over 10 km in the river basin of the Kukdi river and has thickness varying from 1 to 2 m. Not a blade of grass grows here.
