Borghat




Borghat, a beautiful hamlet, is situated on the east bank of the blue river Myntdu to the south of Jaintia Hills District.U Bor Sing, the mighty Jaintia king converted this village which was of great strategic and commercial importance, into the kingdom sub-headquarters and adorned it with temples, tanks and other structural splendor of that time.

The Royal Temple, the Ruin Royal Palace, Megaliths site and the crematorium of the ancient Sohra Chiefs are the main tourist attractions.

The nearest airport is at Borjhar in Assam, about 149 km from the village.
