Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum




Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum, established in 1956, is situated at Bodhgaya, in Gaya District, Bihar. The museum treasures a number of relics recovered from the old temple at Bodhgaya along with several other objects excavated from the site.

A rare collection of Buddhist sculptures, dating back from 1st century BC to the 11th century AD, is the major draw. Original sculptured pillars that formed the railing around the Mahabodhi Temple are also on exhibit.

Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum is open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs on all days, except Friday and public holidays.
