Birla Mandir

Birla Mandir lies on Kala Pahad (a twin hillock of Naubat Pahad), facing the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad. It is a stylish white marble-carved temple with the presiding deity of Lord Venkateshwara, a form of Lord Vishnu. The statue of Lord Venkateshwara in the sanctum sanctorum is molded from black granite. This temple is built with the combination of architectural styles of the southern and northern Indian temples. There is a Rajagopuram (main entrance gate), which is built in the South Indian style. The tower above the main shrine of Venkateshwara is called the Jagadananda vimana, built in the Orissan style. A mukha mandapam is seen adjacent to the temple, which depicts the scenes from Indian myths.

The temple also houses other shrines including the consorts of Venkateshwara, namely, Padmavathi and Andal.
