Founded by B M Birla in 1955, Birla Institute of Technology is located at Subanarekha, which is about 16 km from
Ranchi, in
Jharkhand. It received the status of a deemed university in 1986.
The institute conducts under-graduate and post-graduate courses in various subjects such as engineering and technology, architecture, pharmaceutical sciences and management. Research programs are also organized. Besides, a training and placement division functions here to assist students in industrial training and placement.
The campus features research laboratories, lecture halls, library, workshops, marketing and medical center and bank. Hostel facilities are also available.
