Birk

Located about 10 km north-west of Jagroan, Birk village of Ludhiana District is considered a sacred place because Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru, is said to have stayed here in 1631. To commemorate the visit of the guru, Gurdwara Manji Sahib Chhevin Patshahi has been constructed in the south-west of Birk. The village becomes a festive scene when thousands throng Birk during the major festival of this gurdwara. The nearest railway station is at Faghwara (4km). Ludhiana Airport is the nearest airport.
