Birajadevi Temple




Built in the 13th century, Birajadevi Temple is one of the famous temples around Jajpur. It enshrines Goddess Biraja, a form of goddess Durga, mounted on a lion. The main events celebrated here are Durga Puja and Kali Puja. Among the famous temples around Jajpur, Birajadevi Temple holds special rank as the district is also known as Biraja Peetha, named after this goddess. There is also a pool, Navikunda where pilgrims take holy bath. The nearest railhead is Jajpur Keonjhar Road Railway Station.
