Bir




Bir, at a height of 6,900 feet, is a village in the lap of the Himalayas in Kangra District. This holiday destination lies between Palampur(24 km) and Joginder Nagar. It serves as a base for hang and paragliders. The beauty of the area is enhanced by the tea plantations and the scenic Kangra Valley surrounding it.

Accommodations are available at Sath Camps. Palyul Choekhorling Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India, is worth visiting. Billing, 14 km from Bir, is ideal for paragliding. Baijnath Shiva Temple is on the way to Bir.

The nearest railhead is Baijnath Paprola Railway Station.
