Situated at an altitude of 10,000 ft, Biama is a tribal hamlet in the
Drogpa area in
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It lies at a distance of about 170 km from
Leh on the way to Dha from
Hanuthang. Hanuthang nala is a nearby attraction. The cultural and religious practices of Biama are totally different from the rest of
Ladakh.
Biama is easily reachable from Leh and Kargil. One can trek from Tso Moriri, Nubra Valley and Lamayuru to reach Biama.
