Bhujodi




Bhujodi is a traditional craft village inhabited by around 1200 people of the Vankar community of weavers, situated at the outskirts of Bhuj, almost 12 km from the town center. The majority of people of that land engage themselves in traditional occupations such as weaving and embroidery, which they are famous for. Exquisite shawls, traditional blankets and handicraft products including dhablas and woolen durries are made here. Harijan village, one of neighboring the villages of Bhujodi, is considered the best weaving center of Kutch. The people of this village have also proved to be adpt at mirror work and clay designing. The Bhuj Rudra Mata Airport situated at Bhuj is the nearest airfield and the nearest railway station is also at Bhuj, 13 km from Bhujodi.
