Bhoothapandy




Bhoothapandy is a small picturesque village situated in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. The village houses a magnificent temple of Bhoothalingam Swamy. The temple holds rare images of Lord Parashuram and Adi Shankaracharya. Legend has it that, the Panchabhuta worshiped Lord Shiva as Bhoothalingam at Bhoothapandy. Bhoothapandy served as the border between Chera and Pandya kingdom during that period.

State Bank of Travancore's Bhoothapandy branch, Government Hospital and Government Higher Secondary School are the some major landmarks in Bhoothapandy.

Trivandrum International Airport and Nagercoil Junction Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station respectively. Buses and taxis are available from Nagercoil to Bhoothapandy.
