Bhishma Ekadashi Festival




Bhishma Ekadashi Festival is celebrated on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Magha. It is dedicated to Bhishma who was born to Ganga and Santanu. Legend has it that, Bhishma was a great warrior who fought the battle of Kurukshetra alongside the Kauravas and was killed by Arjuna, the third among Pandavas. The Brahmins and Kshatriyas celebrate this festival by observing fast and they also perform pujas on this day.
