Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary



Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary is located in Jhajjar District of Haryana and is around 15 km from Jhajjar.

The Bhindawas Lake situated along the Jhajjar-Dadri approach road is spread on a sprawling 1,017 acres. The entire lake sometimes is covered by birds in every direction. Small islands, just a few meters across, dot the lake and are covered by resting birds. Bhindawas is a true bird lover's paradise.

Inhabitants include spot-billed ducks, pintails, common teals, lapwings, crow-pheasants, coots, common kingfishers, purple moorhens, jungle babblers, rosy pelicans, cormorants, darters, purple herons, egrets, white-necked and other storks, flamingos, ibis, shovellers, pintails, demoiselle cranes and dabchicks.

The best time to visit is December to January.
