Bhilai




Bhilai, known for the famous Steel Plant, is a major city in Durg District of Chhattisgarh. Formerly a small town, Bhilai grew rapidly in the decades following the construction of the steel plant. Apart from the steel plant, which manufactures railway sleepers, rails, construction materials, and other steel products, Bhilai also has factories that produce chemicals, acids, and gases.

Bhilai Nagar Railway Station is located on a rail line connecting Kolkata and Mumbai. A major highway connecting Kolkata with Dhule, Mumbai, and Agra passes through Bhilai.
