Bhavani Temple




Bhavani Temple, 27 km from Mahabaleshwar, is a shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhavani in Pratapgad Fort. The temple on the eastern side of the lower fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj. It has a hall with wooden pillars and a shrine made of stone. The roof is flat inside and outside you can find a leaden covering built by Satara Raja Pratapsingh (1818-1839). There is a small spire over the shrine.
