Bhartiya Sangeet Sadan, founded in 1943, is based in
New Delhi. It aims to promote the various classical dance forms, particularly Kathak. Special emphasis is given to vocal and instrumental music.
The School provides instruction and guidance in music and dance, organizes public and selective (Mehfil) performances of leading artists, conducts theatrical performances and lectures on music and dance and publishes journals, monographs and books on art.
Since its inception, the school has been providing instruction in Indian classical dance and music under the guidance of professional gurus. It also organizes special classes and workshops for overseas students.
