Bharoana

Bharoana is a charming village located about 15 km southwest of Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala District. This village is famous as the birth place of Bhai Phiranda, a prominent musician of his times. Bharoana houses an ancient shrine built at the spot where Bhai Phiranda is believed to have lived. Every year on the tenth of the Assu month (September-October), a fair is held here, attended by a large number of devotees. Gurdwara Rababsar Sahib is another attraction here. With a square sanctum and high-ceilinged hall, this gurdwara is topped by an umbrella shaped finial and a gold plated pinnacle. All major Sikh anniversaries are celebrated here with much pomp and merriment. Amritsar International Airport and Sultanpur Lodhi Railway Station serve this area.
