The Eastern Gateway to Rajasthan



Bharatpur city, located in the Bharatpur District of Rajasthan, is named after Bharat, the brother of Lord Ram. This place was established by Badan Singh in the 18th century, and later his son constructed the Lohagarh Fort here.

The main attractions of the city include Lohagarh Fort, Government Museum, Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj, Keoladeo National Park, and the Bharatpur palace. Brij festival is a major public event of the city.

Temperatures soar upto 45oC in summer. Rainy season is extremely humid. The best season to visit is October-March. Bharatpur has a railway station and Agra is the nearest airport, 56 km away. The city is well-connected by roads.
