Associated with the
Vaishnavite cult, Bharat Yuddha is a popular dance drama of
Manipur. It literally means ‘battle of India’ and is related to the great epic,
Mahabharata. It depicts the Kurukshetra war that held between
Kauravas and
Pandavas. Favored by
Lord Krishna, the Pandavas are the eventual victors and heroes of the play.
