Bhangra Dhol

Bhangra Dhol is the main rhythm instrument used in the Bhangra, the lively folk dance of Punjab. It is a two-sided drum similar in structure to the Dholak, but with larger diameter of about 40 cm. The larger head helps in delivering a very impressive bass.

In a traditional Bhangra Dhol, the body is made from wood while the head is covered with animal skin. Modern versions boast a fiberglass body and artificial skins. The style of the drum varies from simple ones to more elaborately decorated ones.
