Bhangarh




Bhangarh is a picturesque place located at Sariska in Alwar District. It is famous for the ruins of palaces and medieval bazaars. Bhangarh was constructed in 1631 by Madho singh, younger brother of Akbar's famous general Man Singh.

According to a legend the place was discarded due to some miserable effects. The town planning, castle hierarchy and market system are worth mentioning. Someshwar and Gopinath Temples of the region are the main attractions. Ajabgarh a new locale was formed after the collapse of Bhangarh.

Bhangarh is located inside Sariska wildlife sanctuary. It is about 50 km from Alwar. Alwar Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
