Bhaley Dunga



Bhaley Dunga is a rock located in the Yangang village in South Sikkim District. It lies on the Ravangla–Maenam trek route. It is a peculiar-looking rock which resembles the head of a cock. In olden days, this rock served the travelers as a guiding landmark. It can be seen from miles away.

Nearby interesting locations are Maenam Hills, Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary and Ravangla. One-day trekking is arranged from Maenam Top to here. This trek route winds through a thick forest of oak, magnolia and rhododendrons. Base camps are available.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra in West Bengal. The nearest railway stations are at New Jalpaiguri and Siliguri.
