Bhalchandra Nemade

Marathi novelist



Bhalchandra Nemade, born in 1938, has gifted numerous outstanding novels to the Marathi language, popular being Kosala, Bidhar, Jareela, and Zool. In recognition of his critical work 'Teekaswayamvara', he was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990. Besides, Nemade was a teacher of Marathi, English, and comparative literature at several universities, including The School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
