Bhadon

Bhadon is the sixth month of the Sikh calendar. It stands instead of the Bhadrapada in North Indian Hindu Calendar. This month falls between mid-August and mid-September in Gregorian calendar.

The installation of the holy book of Guru Granth Sahib in the Golden Temple of Amritsar by Guru Arjan was made on the 17th of Bhadon. The festival of Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi, which commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna and Lord Ganesh respectively, falls in this month.
