Bengali Pilau Rice

Bengali Pilau Rice is a meal by itself. Sauted bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, peanuts and seedless raisins are added to the cooked rice and mixed well. Rice is cooked with turmeric powder. Sugar and salt are added when the rice is mixed. Bengali chicken curry, prawns and onions or split chickpeas curry form perfect accompaniments to Bengali Pilau rice.
