Belpukur




Belpukur is a village situated in Simantadvipa in Nadia District. A village associated with Gaudiya Vaishnava Sect, it is around 10 km north-east of Navadvipa. The village is also known as Belpukhuria and Bilvapuskarini.

The importance of this place that it holds an ancient idol of Krishna (Madana Gopal). The deity is said to have been worshiped by Nilambara Cakravarti Thakur, the father of Sacidevi. Ganges has its course through the village.

Visitors can access this place by taxi or rickshaw from Mayapur. One can also take the ferry across the Bhagirathi River from Navadvipa.
