Basaral

Basaral, a small hamlet 25 km northeast of Mandya, is famous for its 12th century Mallikarjuna temple built in the Hoysala style. The temple has beautiful sculptures with exquisite inscriptions from the Ramayana, the Mahabharat and the Bhagavata.
