Barsu




Barsu Village is located around 10 km from Bhatwari in Uttarkashi District. It commands a fascinating view of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. This region nestles among pine forests, high altitude meadows and deep valleys. Nearby places to visit are Dayara Bugyal (8 km), Raithal and Dodi Tal. Barsu is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available here.

Agriculture and livestock rearing are the main occupation of the villagers. The village houses are built of mud, stone and wood. Stone slates are used for roof. The upper part of the house is used by the family, while the lower part is for animals and their fodder.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport and the nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.
