Barseri

Barseri is a picturesque village about 8 km from Sangla in Kinnaur District. The village houses many chakkis (water mills) and solar heaters. There is a Buddha temple that houses numerous images, including that of Shakyamuni. The temple also has a huge prayer wheel.

The villagers of Barseri usually engage in woodcarving. The Rakcham pagoda-style temple, famous for beautiful wood carvings and with the idols of both Hindu and Buddhist deities like Shamshir Debta, Devi and Naga is a remarkable structure. An ancient pre-Buddhist monument and a Shiva temple are also worth visiting.

The Chandigarh railhead is located about 340 km from here.
