Barod is a taluk headquarters town situated in the Shajapur District of Madhya Pradesh. It is about 90 km north-west of Shajapur and 20 km west of Agar. In the west of Barod, there is a hill tract showing scattered hillocks in the north-south direction. The height of this tract varies between 500 and 545 m above sea level. Dudhaliy and Kachhol are the main streams of the town.
Devi Ahilya Bai Holeker Airport and Shajapur Railway Station serve the town.
