Bariyarpur Weir




Built across the Ken River, Bariyarpur Weir is a major reservoir located at Ajaygarh in Panna District. The purpose of the reservoir is to irrigate the agricultural area of Banda through Ken Canal system. Constructed in 1905 by the government of Uttar Pradesh, it also provides irrigation to Chitrakut District (Uttar Pradesh) and Chhatarpur District (Madhya Pradesh) through main canal. Originates from the right bank of Bariyarpur weir, Ken Canal System irrigates areas in Panna and Banda. It has a capacity of about 2500 cusecs. Visitors can see numerous streams here including the famous Raneh Falls. Civil Airport Khajuraho and Satna Railway Station are the nearest access points.
